The subject of this episode is Plural Forms of Nouns.
When a noun ends in a vowel, make it plural by adding an "s." Note that the definite article also changes. Listen as I give a few examples:
el libro - los libros
la casa - las casas
el chico - los chicos
la seņora - las seņoras
If a noun ends in a consonant, make it plural by adding "es." Again, the definite article also changes. Here are some examples.
el doctor - los doctores
la universidad - las universidades
el profesor - los profesores
la ciudad - las ciudades
When the plural refers to a group of both male and females, the masculine form is used. See if you can guess what I'm saying. Remember, the word for "dog" is "perro."
2 perros + 2 perras = 4 perros
The meaning of this statement is "two dogs plus two dogs is four dogs," with the first two dogs being male and the last two dogs being female. Here it is one more time, listen carefully.
2 perros + 2 perras = 4 perros
That wraps up our mini-episode on Plural Forms of Nouns.
