Flashcards: Instructions and Suggestions

Instructions

Think of this as a stack of cards with English on one side, and Spanish on the other:

1. Continue - this is like progressing through the deck front side card one, back side card one, front side card two, back side card two, etc.

2. Flip Deck - flips the entire deck over so that the alternate language is on top

3. Remove Card - removes currently displayed card from the deck

4. Flip Card - flips currently displayed card without affecting which language is set as facing up

5. Next Card - skips to the next card

6. Shuffle Deck - changes the order of the cards

7. Show Images - checking this box replaces Spanish text with images (note: not all decks have images)

Suggestions

1. Practice both ways, with Spanish side up, and with English side up.

2. Always repeat the Spanish out loud after the speaker.

3. After practicing with the text, enable the images and go through the deck with the images on top, using the "Next Card" button.

4. Make identical flashcards using 3" X 5" index cards. Always carry some cards with you so you can practice for short intervals (even 1-2 minutes is helpful) throughout the day.
